Some are better for activities than others, while others focus more on skiing. So to find out which one is for you, here are some of the best ones to visit:Park City mountain ResortPark City Mountain Resort is situated in Park City, Utah and it offers expansive bowls, and the Canyon is Utah's largest ski mountain offering tree runs and a world class terrain park. With the vast array of varying terrain, this resort is ideal for both beginners and advanced skiers. If you are a beginner the Summit House run is the easiest one to try out, while advanced skiers may prefer the various bowls around the resort.There are a variety of really good restaurants and they specialize in steak and prime ribs. There are also picturesque shops for you to browse in if you ever have time, and there are also mining trails which you can explore. You can also take part in other winter activities including sleigh rides, tubing and snowmobiling Overall, the resort has 3,300 acres of ski able terrain and 100 trails. There is deep powder, bumps, rails and jumps to compete with as well as four different terrain parks. The resort has been used for the World Olympics in 2002 and is definitely a cut above the rest. Alta Ski AreaAt the Alta Ski Area the average annual snowfall is a massive 500 inches. It is situated at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon, Utah, and its winter season opens in Mid-November until Mid-April. There are 116 runs and 7 lifts and the terrain is suitable for all skiing abilities.For those who want to improve their ability, there is a ski school which offers both private and group lessons for all ages. There are also camps available throughout the winter season which includes Telemark camps and women's only camps. They allow you to test your ability to the maximum and to meet new people. There are some fantastic activities for those of you who prefer to try something a little different, including Snowcat skiing, mountaineering, helicopter skiing and backcountry skiing. Some of these activities are mainly suited to advanced skiers though so always check whether you have the right ability before signing up with any event. Local amenities include a few spas where you can get relaxing massages and you can pamper yourself. After all you are on holiday! There are a number of restaurants available, a good one being Alf's restaurant which has gorgeous views over the Albion basin. Overall this is a good resort to visit and there is plenty to keep you busy! Beaver Mountain Ski AreaThe Beaver Mountain Ski Area is situated in Northern Utah and it is one of the best small skiing areas around. The great thing about this skiing area is that it is avalanche free so you do not have to worry about the weather too much. Its annual snowfall is around 400 inches and it has 22 runs, 3 lifts and a vertical drop of around 1,600. Suitable for all skiing abilities, there are gentle green backs and challenging black diamonds for the advanced skiers.It is a family run business and it focuses on personal touches and aims to provide each individual skier with a personal service. There is just over 464 acres of land and it isn't overly crowded. As well as skiing, you can also take part in other winter activities including tubing and snowboarding. There aren't many amenities as it is such a small place, but you should be able to find some in the surrounding areas. Brian HeadBrian Head Utah, is home to the Brian Head resort which offers visitors over 500 acres of ski able terrain. There is over 400 inches of annual snowfall and most of the time the resort is not crowded. If you are looking to have skiing lessons, the resort features one of the best ski school in Utah called 'The Navajo Lodge Learning Center', which has been teach people of all ages how to ski for years.There is plenty of terrain for intermediate skiers and they will love the fact that most of the time they get the runs to themselves. There is the choice between long cruiser runs and short mogul fields and there is advanced backcountry for the advanced skier. This resort is also good for night skiing, which not all resorts offer. If you fancy a change from skiing, there is a tubing center available with 6 different lanes to choose from. Other activities include sleigh rides and snowmobiling. There is also a spa which offers cutting edge energy therapies and luxurious spa treatments. There are many different dining options available to you at this resort and a good one to visit is the Cedar Breaks lodge and spa restaurants. They serve wild game, pasta, steak and seafood. Prices will vary and there will always be something for your price range. Brighton Ski ResortThe Brighton Ski Resort is situated at the top of the Cottonwood Canyon, Utah, and it is one of the oldest resorts in the country. However, that doesn't mean that it isn't modernized, it is actually one of the most modern and diverse resorts in Utah. It is renowned for its cheap prices and family friendly slopes which makes it ideal for beginners. Skiers have access to a massive range of backcountry, and the lodging is really good value.There are 850 ski able acres of terrain and roughly 500 inches of annual snowfall. The great thing about this resort is that children under the age of 10 always ski for free. With both powder and glades to choose from, there is an option for both beginners and advanced skiers. Beginners often find that the Explorer and the Majestic runs are the easiest, while advanced skiers prefer the steep and difficult terrain of the Milly. Altogether there are 66 runs and 7 lifts, and the trails are regularly groomed. The resort has two mountains and there are chutes, moguls and glades and bowls situated all the way throughout the resort. It may not be one of the biggest resorts but it is definitely one of the most reasonably priced ones!
