Arapahoe Basin

The Arapahoe Basin resort is situated in Summit County, Colorado and the mountain has an elevation of 13,050 feet. The resort has more than 60 trails and five chairlifts and boasts the highest terrain park in North America called "Mutha Hucker." The longest run on the mountain is 1.5 miles long.

Aspen Snowmass

Aspen Snowmass is an extremely popular resort based in Aspen, Colorado. The Snowmass Mountain is far too big to be explored in just one day with 90 trails and 23 lifts. There are more than 3,000 acres of terrain parks, steeps, cruisers and half pipes, and a vertical drop of 4,406 feet. The winter season starts in late November and runs until Mid-April. The annual snowfall is usually around 300 inches.

Well known for its vast array of family activities, Aspen Snowmass has been voted one of the best ski resorts in North America. There is ice-skating, storytelling around a campfire and a multi-use sports complex to keep the family entertained. The sports centre has an Olympic sized pool and there is also a youth center and a NHL sized ice arena.

If you stay inside the town, you will also find plenty to do! From exciting nightlife, to a shopper's paradise and one-of-a-kind dining, Aspen is by far one of the best resorts to stay in. There are more than 100 different restaurants from which to choose and numerous theatres and movie houses.

Beaver Creek Resort

Beaver Creek is situated within the Rocky Mountains in Vail Valley, Colorado. It offers both groomed runs and jaw-dropping bump runs, making it suitable for both beginners and advanced skiers.

Altogether there are three villages and two towns based within the resort. You really are spoiled for choices when it comes to things to do and there are even luxury touches added to the resort with heated walkways, escalators and world class dining.

The resort has four different spas with a variety of pampering services and world class shopping. If you get tired of the slopes you can spend your afternoons wandering around the art galleries and the many shops. Activities include sleigh rides, Nordic sports, ice skating and hot air ballooning and there are various events which go on throughout the year.

Altogether there are 146 trails available and 16 lifts throughout the resort. Usually there is around 310 inches of annual snowfall and the longest run is around 2 ¾ miles long. There are plenty of accommodation options and there is a ski school available.

Breckenridge Resort

The Breckenridge resort is situated in the Colorado Rockies and its winter season starts in early November and runs until late April. There are 29 lifts scattered around the resort with 2,358 acres of ski/ride terrain. With 147 trails, there is something to suit all abilities.

In the town you will find 79 restaurants, 180 different shops and boutiques, 5 grocery/convenience stores, 16 museums and art galleries, and 501 places to stay. If you fancy a bit of pampering once you are off the slopes, there are a six spas.

Copper Mountain Resort

Copper Mountain Resort is based in Summit County, Colorado, and has a total of 2,433 acres of ski territory. There are 125 trails and the average annual snowfall is around 283 inches. The winter season starts in early November and stops in mid-April.

There is good nightlife, and some great dining options to choose from as well as plenty of activities to keep the whole family busy. There are plenty of shops and even a chocolate factory! The various activities include snow tubing, winter fly fishing, snowmobiling and you can even go on a scenic sleigh ride. There really is so much to do; you just don't have time to get bored!
