Deer Valley Resort as One of the Best Mountain Ski ResortThe Deer Valley Resort is situated 36 miles away from Salt Lake City, Utah, and it starts its winter season in early December through until mid-April. The resort prides itself onThere aren't as many shops at this resort as there are at some others in Utah, however, there is still a couple around and they mainly offer Deer Valley Merchandise. As well as skiing, there are also other winter activities that you can take part in during your stay, including a tricks and turns terrain park, old fashion sleigh rides, snowshoeing, hot air ballooning and Heli-skiing. Compared to some other Utah resorts, the activities here are extremely varied and there should be something for everyone. Amenities for guests include complimentary ski storage for your equipment, an internet café, a lost and found area and a shop selling the latest high performance gear. Dining is a great experience with a wide variety of choices available from day restaurants to banquets, and evening restaurants to a bakery. There is something to suit all tastes and budgets. Powder Mou ntainThis resort is situated in Eden, Utah, and it prides itself on having completely natural snow. There is roughly 500 inches of annual snowfall and the resort features three mountains covering 5,500 acres of terrain. A lot of their runs are groomed so that all levels of skiers can enjoy the slopes, though there are some untracked powder trails which will be more challenging for an advanced skier. The winter season starts in Mid November and it runs through until Mid-April.There are 113 runs altogether and there are 3 different terrain parks. As well as ordinary skiing, there is also the chance to try out Heli-skiing and Snowcat skiing as well as various mountain tours available to enjoy. As with most resorts there is a ski school available if you want to improve your skiing ability, and there are four different choices of dining available to suit all budgets. There aren't many amenities at this resort compared to some of the others but it is a really friendly, brilliant skiing resort which will definitely suit you if you just want to ski. Snowbasin Ski ResortThe Snowbasin ski resort is situated in Huntsville, Utah, and it offers a massive 2,650 ski able terrain. There is usually around 400 inches of annual snowfall and the resort has over 55 different runs to try out. Featuring high-alpine bowls, deep powder glades, steep chutes and groomed cruisers, the resort is famous for providing excellent terrain fro all abilities.For those who love downhill skiing, the Grizzly and Wildflower runs eagerly await you, and they really are challenging! If you are looking for other activities you can also try out tubing, scenic gondola rides, hiking, horseback riding and disc golf. The dining options available are brilliant and you can even have a gourmet picnic breakfast if you give the resort at least 24 hours notice. Needles lodge offers some good dining options and it is one of the more elegant options available too. If you need to rent any equipment, the grizzly center is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays for your convenience. There is also the option to have private storage lockers if you want them. SnowbirdSnowbird skiing is a unique experience and the resort can be found in Little Cottonwood Canyon, Utah. With usually around 500 inches of annual snowfall, the Snowbird resort has 2,500 ski able terrain and over 89 different runs available to its skiers.The resort features some of the toughest downhill terrain in the West, with runs like 'Chip's Run', 'Great Scott' and 'Primrose', being some of the most challenging runs in the resort. The terrain parks at the resort are mainly aimed towards intermediate and advanced skiers and you should not attempt to enter them unless you definitely know what you are doing! There are some unique camps available with this resort including a 'Wild Mountain Yoga' camp where you combine inspirational skiing with yoga. There are also women's only camps and free styling camps available too. If you want a break from the slopes there are a number of spa and fitness options to keep you active and pampered. The Spa is one of the finest in the country and there are also pools, hot tubs and golf and tennis activities to keep you happy! The nightlife within the resort is really varied and there is something for all tastes, and there are plenty of dining options available to suit all tastes. As this resort is also quite an up market one, there are plenty of shops to keep you entertained from jewelry to wines and liquor, you should have hours of fun doing a little retail therapy! Other activities you can take part in, include ice skating, snowmobile tours, backcountry tours and night skiing. Overall this resort is definitely one of the best and you are bound to enjoy every minute of your stay. Solitude Ski ResortThe Solitude Ski resort is situated in Big Cottonwood Canyon, Utah, and it has 1,200 acres of ski able terrain. It receives around 500 inches of annual snowfall and it has a total of over 64 runs. Renowned for its soft snow and extremely well groomed slopes, this resort is rarely overcrowded.There is plenty of terrain for all different abilities so there is something for everyone. For the more advanced skier, the Wasatch backcountry offers unforgettable adventures along the most picturesque terrain in the country. Solitude's back Track programs offer everything you need for your trip including a gourmet lunch. Its accommodation is well known for being cozy and they all overlook beautiful scenery. As well as skiing, you can also take part in ice-skating and snowshoeing and if you fancy a break from the slopes altogether there is a great spa, which offers various pampering treatments. There is also a Solitude Club where members can enjoy movies in a comfortable theatre, billiards and they can even play against each other on Xboxes within the family friendly game room. There are some great dining options and the 'St Bernard's restaurant is a good one to visit offering elegant dining. Overall this resort is great for people who prefer to get away from the crowds, and enjoy a truly relaxing, skiing experience.
