Certain Facts you need to know about Skijoring

Skijoring is a strange word but it basically refers to a sport where you are pulled on cross-country skis by a dog, or dogs in a harness. It is a cross between dog sledding and cross country skiing.
In order to participate obviously you need some cross country equipment, which you can either buy or rent. The dog that is going to be pulling you should be healthy and weigh between 30-35 pounds at minimum. If you do not know what you are doing, skijoring lessons are a must. They will teach you what to say to the dogs to get them to start or stop which is obviously very important to learn!

It is entirely possible for you to teach your own dog to pull you along, and there are stores which sell skijoring equipment. It is always recommended that you take a partner along with you on the activity and if you are interested you can inquire about it at any resort where you plan to book. (Note that not all resorts will allow you to bring your pets with you.)
Kite Skiing
Kite skiing is also known as snowkiting and it is one of the more recent winter sports to be developed. It basically involves being pulled along by a kite which is powered by the wind, and you can use basic downhill skis and boots to traverse snow or ice. It is a fairly easy activity to learn and is ideal for beginners and provides a good adrenaline rush.
